The sacred and life-giving joy of the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ illumined Holy Archangel Michael Ukrainian Orthodox Parish in Pinellas Park, Florida, as the faithful gathered in prayerful unity for a grace-filled archpastoral celebration. The parish was blessed by the presence of the hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA - His Eminence Metropolitan Antony and Archbishop Daniel - who came to rejoice with the community in the mystery of God’s Incarnation.

At the very threshold of the holy temple, the hierarchs were greeted by the children of the parish, whose youthful voices proclaimed the wonder of Bethlehem through poetry and song. With radiant faces, they offered flowers as symbols of love, purity, and gratitude - a living reminder that the Child born in the manger continues to dwell most naturally in humble and open hearts. Representatives of the parish administration followed with the traditional Ukrainian offering of bread and salt, beautifully adorned with flowers, expressing hospitality, unity, and the deep spiritual heritage carried by the faithful.

Very Rev. Fr. Steven Siniari, pastor of the parish, welcomed the hierarchs with the Holy Cross and invited them to enter the temple of the Lord to lead the community in the celebration of the Great and Holy Feast of the Nativity. With the blessing of Metropolitan Antony, Archbishop Daniel presided at the Archpastoral Divine Liturgy, surrounded by clergy, altar servers, chanters, and a church filled to capacity with faithful and visitors.

The congregation itself bore witness to the living reality of the Church today - a tapestry of believers who have relocated to Florida from across the United States and Canada, joined by recent immigrants who have found refuge in the Tampa Bay area from Odesa, Kharkiv, Mariupol, the Donbas region, and Kyiv. Some arrived carrying memories of peaceful childhoods; others, the fresh wounds of war. Yet all stood together, lifting their voices in English and Ukrainian, chanting the ancient hymns of the Church and proclaiming with one heart and one voice: “Christ is Born! Glorify Him!”

Following the Gospel reading, Archbishop Daniel offered a deeply reflective and pastoral homily, drawing the faithful into the mystery of the Incarnation and its relevance for a wounded world.

“The Nativity,” he said, “is not merely an event we remember - it is a divine invasion of love into human history. God does not enter our lives with force or fear, but as a Child. He comes quietly, vulnerably, asking for room not in palaces, but in hearts.”

Reflecting on the suffering of Ukraine, the Archbishop spoke with tenderness and resolve: “Today, the Newborn Christ is born again in the darkness of bomb shelters, in hospitals, in cold basements where children sleep clothed in fear. He is born among soldiers on the front lines, among mothers who wait and weep, among fathers who pray for their sons and daughters. And He comes not to abandon them, but to remain with them - Emmanuel, God with us.”

He continued: “When Christ is born, hope is reborn. Even when the night is long, Bethlehem reminds us that God enters precisely where the world is most broken. The manger teaches us that no suffering is too small, no tear too hidden, no prayer unheard.”

Quoting the Holy Fathers, Archbishop Daniel reminded the faithful that the wood of the manger already points to the wood of the Cross, and that the humility of Bethlehem is inseparable from the glory of the Resurrection. “From the cave to Golgotha, and from Golgotha to the empty tomb,” he said, “the story of Christ is one unbroken act of love.”

Many of the faithful approached the Holy Chalice, receiving the Most Pure Body and Precious Blood of Christ, mystically uniting themselves with the Newborn King and reaffirming their participation in the life of salvation that begins in Bethlehem and is fulfilled in Pascha.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Daniel blessed each of the faithful with the Holy Cross, offering words of encouragement, prayer, and hope, along with Nativity gifts - small tokens bearing a great spiritual message: Christ is among His people.

In a particularly moving moment, Fr. Steven Siniari invited the hierarchs to bless newly commissioned icons adorning the parish. These sacred icons, created by an iconographer formed within the monastic tradition of the Odesa region of Ukraine, were offered as a charitable donation to the parish through the generosity of Seminarian Alex Pechenizkiy and his family. Their gift stood as a beautiful testimony to faith expressed through sacrifice - art offered not for display, but for prayer; beauty offered not for admiration, but for worship.

Blessing the icons, Metropolitan Antony noted: “Icons preach without words. They remind us that God is with us, that the saints walk with us, and that even in times of war and uncertainty, heaven remains open. This gift is not only an adornment of this holy temple, but a confession of faith and love.”

In a touching gesture of mutual gratitude, the parish presented Metropolitan Antony and Archbishop Daniel with icons to accompany them in their archpastoral ministry and to find a home at the Spiritual Center of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA - a lasting reminder of the faithful community in Florida and their shared celebration of Christ’s Birth.

The celebration continued in joyful fellowship as clergy and faithful gathered for a festive Christmas luncheon. Traditional carols filled the hall, children laughed, elders shared memories, and new friendships were formed - all bound together by the simple yet profound joy of being one Body in Christ.

As the faithful departed, the message of the day remained clear and luminous: the Nativity of Christ unites generations, languages, and journeys. It calls each believer to become a living gift - carrying humility, compassion, and hope into a world yearning for the Light that shines from Bethlehem.

Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

Священна й животворча радість Різдва Господа і Спаса нашого Ісуса Христа осяяла парафію Святого Архистратига Михаїла Української Православної Церкви США у місті Пінеллас-Парк, Флорида, коли вірні зібралися у молитовній єдності на благодатне архіпастирське святкування. Парафія була щедро благословенна присутністю ієрархів УПЦ США - Його Високопреосвященства Митрополита Антонія та Архієпископа Даниїла, які прибули, щоб розділити з громадою радість таїнства Боговтілення.

На самому порозі святого храму ієрархів зустріли діти парафії, чиї юні голоси через поезію та спів проголошували диво Вифлеєму. Зі світлими обличчями вони піднесли квіти як символи любові, чистоти й вдячності - живе пригадування про те, що Дитя, народжене в яслах, найприродніше перебуває у смиренних і відкритих серцях. Представники парафіяльної управи продовжили зустріч традиційним українським хлібом і сіллю, прикрашеними квітами, виражаючи гостинність, єдність і глибоку духовну спадщину, яку несуть вірні.

Протоієрей Степан Сін’ярі, настоятель парафії, зустрів ієрархів зі знаменом хреста і запросив їх увійти до храму Господнього, щоб очолити громаду у святкуванні Великого і Святого Празника Різдва Христового. З благословення Митрополита Антонія Архієпископ Даниїл очолив Архіпастирську Божественну Літургію у співслужінні духовенства, вівтарників і співців, а храм був ущент наповнений вірними та гостями.

Сама громада стала живим свідченням сучасної дійсності Церкви - мозаїкою вірних, які переїхали до Флориди з різних куточків Сполучених Штатів і Канади, разом із нещодавніми іммігрантами, що знайшли прихисток у районі Тампа-Бей, прибувши з Одеси, Харкова, Маріуполя, Донбасу та Києва. Одні прийшли з теплими спогадами мирного дитинства, інші - з ще свіжими ранами війни. Та всі разом вони піднесли свої голоси англійською та українською мовами, співаючи древні напіви Церкви і проголошуючи одним серцем і одними устами: «Христос Рождається! Славімо Його!»

Після читання Святого Євангелія Архієпископ Даниїл виголосив глибоко пастирську й роздумливу проповідь, вводячи вірних у таїнство Воплочення та його значення для зраненого світу.

«Різдво, - сказав він, - це не лише подія, яку ми згадуємо, - це божественне вторгнення любові в людську історію. Бог входить у наше життя не з силою чи страхом, а як Дитя. Він приходить тихо, уразливо, просячи місця не в палацах, а в серцях».

Роздумуючи над стражданнями України, Архієпископ із ніжністю та внутрішньою силою промовив: «Сьогодні Новонароджений Христос знову народжується в темряві бомбосховищ, у лікарнях, у холодних підвалах, де діти сплять, огорнуті страхом. Він народжується серед воїнів на передовій, серед матерів, які чекають і плачуть, серед батьків, які моляться за своїх синів і дочок. І Він приходить не для того, щоб їх залишити, а щоб бути з ними -Еммануїл, Бог з нами».

Він продовжив: «Коли народжується Христос - народжується надія. Навіть коли ніч довга, Вифлеєм нагадує нам, що Бог входить саме туди, де світ найбільш зламаний. Ясла навчають нас, що жодне страждання не є надто малим, жодна сльоза - надто прихованою, жодна молитва - нечутною».

Цитуючи святих Отців Церкви, Архієпископ Даниїл нагадав, що дерево ясел уже вказує на дерево Хреста, і що смирення Вифлеєму нерозривно пов’язане зі славою Воскресіння. «Від печери до Голгофи, і від Голгофи до порожнього гробу, - сказав владика, - історія Христа є єдиним, безперервним актом любові».

Багато вірних приступили до Святого Причастя, приймаючи Пречисте Тіло і Чесну Кров Христові, містично єднаючись із Новонародженим Царем і підтверджуючи свою участь у житті спасіння, яке починається у Вифлеємі й звершується у Пасхальній перемозі.

Наприкінці Божественної Літургії Архієпископ Даниїл благословив кожного з вірних Святим Хрестом, звертаючись зі словами підбадьорення, молитви й надії, а також вручаючи різдвяні дарунки - невеликі іконки, що несуть велике духовне послання: Христос перебуває серед Свого народу.

В особливо зворушливу духовну мить, о. Степан запросив ієрархів освятити нові ікони, встановлені у храмі. Ці святі образи, створені іконописцем, сформованим у монашій традиції Одеського регіону України, були подаровані парафії як благодійна жертва завдяки щедрості семінариста Олексія Печенізького та його родини. Їхній дар став прекрасним свідченням віри, вираженої через жертву - мистецтво, принесене не для показу, а для молитви; краса, принесена не для милування, а для богослужіння.

Благословляючи ікони, Митрополит Антоній зауважив: «Ікони проповідують без слів. Вони нагадують нам, що Бог з нами, що святі ходять поруч із нами, і що навіть у часи війни й непевності небо залишається відкрите. Цей дар є не лише прикрасою цього святого храму, але й сповіданням віри та любові».

У щирому жесті взаємної вдячності парафія подарувала Митрополиту Антонію та Архієпископу Даниїлу ікони, щоб вони супроводжували їх у архіпастирському служінні та знайшли місце у Духовному Центрі Української Православної Церкви США - як постійне нагадування про вірну громаду Флориди та їхнє спільне святкування Народження Христа.

Святкування продовжилося у радісному спілкуванні за різдвяним обідом. Традиційні колядки наповнили залу, діти сміялися, старші ділилися спогадами, народжувалися нові дружби - і все це було об’єднане простою, але глибокою радістю бути одним Тілом у Христі.

Коли вірні розходилися, послання цього дня залишалося ясним і світлим: Різдво Христове єднає покоління, мови та життєві дороги. Воно кличе кожного стати живим даром - нести смирення, співчуття й надію у світ, що прагне Світла, яке сяє з Вифлеєму.
