South Bound Brook, NJ – As the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA convened its 24th Regular Sobor (Clergy-Laity Congress) at the Spiritual Center in South Bound Brook, New Jersey, the gathering of hierarchs, clergy, and laity was uplifted by a chorus of greetings and blessings from religious, civic, and national leaders across the world. Each message reflected the profound respect and spiritual unity shared with the Church and her mission of faith, charity, and service to both America and Ukraine.

The first and most spiritually moving message was received from His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, spiritual father of world Orthodoxy, who conveyed his paternal joy and heartfelt affection upon the convocation of the Sobor.

“With paternal joy and heartfelt affection, we convey our Patriarchal blessing and greeting upon the convocation of this Regular Sobor, gathered under the invocation of the Psalmic exhortation, ‘Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with great joy.’ Indeed, the spirit of joyful service is the most genuine expression of the Church’s vocation - a life of gratitude, communion, and steadfast witness before the world. May your work be guided by the grace of the Holy Spirit so that every decision taken and every word spoken may abound to the glory of God and the edification of His people.”

His All-Holiness’ message was received with deep reverence and thanksgiving by the hierarchs and delegates, affirming the UOC of the USA’s unbreakable bond with the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, the Mother Church.

A heartfelt greeting was extended by His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphaniy, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. In his message, Metropolitan Epiphaniy expressed sincere gratitude for the fraternal bond between the two Churches and acknowledged the faithful witness of the UOC of the USA throughout its century-long ministry:

“For more than a century, the Church in America has fulfilled her sacred ministry, preserving and bearing witness to the Orthodox faith and Ukrainian identity among the sons and daughters of our people who have found new life overseas. The Orthodox Church of Ukraine deeply values the great missionary and charitable work of the UOC of the USA, especially its support for the victims of Russian aggression, for veterans, displaced persons, and refugees. From my heart, I wish the 24th Sobor fruitful deliberations and wise decisions that will contribute to the preservation and multiplication of the spiritual and historical heritage of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in America amid the challenges of our time.”

His Beatitude’s words served as a moving reminder that the unity of faith and purpose transcends geographical distance, uniting the Ukrainian Church in the homeland and in the diaspora.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, also sent a message filled with gratitude and respect for the Church’s steadfast love and support for the Ukrainian nation and people:

“The convocation of this Sobor is a significant event in the Church’s calendar and a special moment for meeting, dialogue, and deep reflection on faith, service, and the future. We are sincerely grateful for the assistance the Church provides to Ukraine - for the prayers that warm the hearts of our people, and for the unwavering love for our Motherland. Your Church is an integral part of the thousand-year tradition of Ukrainian culture and historical memory in North America.”

President Zelenskyy’s words were met with warm appreciation, as the delegates recognized the shared bond between Church and nation in their collective efforts to bring peace, healing, and hope to Ukraine.

From the civil authorities, a message of esteem was received from The Honorable Philip Murphy, Governor of the State of New Jersey, who extended greetings on behalf of the people of the Garden State:

“For over a century, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA has provided leadership, faith, and community values that make our world a better place. The UOC-USA not only offers spiritual guidance and charity to Ukrainians in New Jersey but also humanitarian aid to Ukraine through medical, food, and transport assistance during this devastating war. I commend your tireless service and expression of faith throughout the Garden State and beyond.”

Governor Murphy’s words reflected the respect and admiration of local civic leaders for the Church’s spiritual and humanitarian impact in both the United States and Ukraine.

The Sobor was also honored to receive the personal message of His Grace Bishop Michael, representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. His Grace highlighted the sacred and apostolic nature of conciliar gatherings in the life of the Church:

“The conciliar form of discussing Church life, resolving difficulties, and seeking answers to challenges is the fundamental way of the Church’s being in the world. Following the example of the Holy Apostles, the fullness of the Body of Christ determines the path to salvation and the Kingdom of God. The UOC of the USA has, for many years, faithfully carried out its mission of proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, serving the people, and supporting the charitable and pastoral works of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.”

Bishop Michael expressed profound gratitude for the support the UOC of the USA has given to charitable initiatives and the translation of liturgical texts from Greek into Ukrainian - a contribution that now benefits faithful across the world.

Video greetings were also received from His Eminence Metropolitan Serhii of Donetsk, who expressed deep appreciation for the love and material assistance extended to the suffering faithful of Ukraine. Likewise, Protopresbyter Kostyantyn Kuznetsov, Dean of the Dnipro Deanery of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, sent heartfelt words of gratitude on behalf of refugees and displaced persons, thanking the hierarchs and faithful of the UOC of the USA for their unwavering compassion and support.

The Council of Bishops of the UOC of the USA, together with the Council of Metropolia, the Consistory and the entire assembly of Sobor delegates, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who extended greetings, blessings, and words of encouragement.

“We are profoundly thankful,” stated the hierarchs, “for every message of love and prayer received from our brothers and sisters in Christ, from Church leaders, government representatives, and civic authorities. Their words strengthen our resolve to serve the Lord with gladness and to continue our mission with faith, humility, and courage.”

The Church also offered special acknowledgment to the sponsors and benefactors of the 24th Sobor, whose generosity and dedication made this historic gathering possible. Through their gifts and service, the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA continue to bear witness to Christ’s love, in America and throughout the world.

“May the blessings of the Lord rest upon all who shared in this sacred convocation - those who greeted, supported, and prayed - that together we may serve the Lord with gladness and build up His Holy Church in love and unity.”

Голоси благословення і вдячності: вітання на адресу 24-го Собору УПЦ США

Саут-Баунд-Брук, Нью-Джерзі – Під час проведення 24-го Чергового Собору (З’їзду духовенства і мирян) Української Православної Церкви США на святій землі Духовного осередку в Саут-Баунд-Бруку ієрархи, духовенство та делегати з усіх куточків країни отримали численні послання благословення і підтримки від релігійних, державних і громадських діячів світу. Кожне вітання відображало глибоку повагу, любов і духовну єдність із Церквою та її місією віри, служіння і милосердя як у США, так і в Україні.

Першим і найбільш зворушливим стало послання від Його Всесвятості Вселенського Патріарха Варфоломія, духовного отця всього православного світу, який із батьківською радістю і сердечною любов’ю благословив скликання Собору:

«Із батьківською радістю і сердечною прихильністю передаємо наше Патріарше благословення з нагоди скликання цього Чергового Собору, який проходить під натхненням псалмоспіву: “Служіть Господу з радістю; прийдіть перед лице Його зо співом.”

Справжній дух радісного служіння є найглибшим виразом покликання Церкви - життя вдячності, єдності і непохитного свідчення перед світом. Нехай ваші труди будуть натхненні благодаттю Святого Духа, щоб кожне слово і кожне рішення звершувалися на славу Божу і на збудування Його люду.»

Ці слова Його Всесвятості були сприйняті з глибокою вдячністю і благоговінням, підтверджуючи нерозривний духовний зв’язок УПЦ США з Матір’ю-Церквою - Вселенським Патріархатом у Константинополі.

Своє щире вітання надіслав також Блаженніший Митрополит Епіфаній, Предстоятель Православної Церкви України. У своєму посланні він висловив вдячність за братню єдність між двома Церквами та відзначив вірне служіння УПЦ США впродовж понад століття:

«Уже понад століття Церква в Америці звершує своє святе служіння, зберігаючи і свідчачи православну віру та українську ідентичність серед синів і дочок нашого народу, які знайшли нове життя за океаном.

Православна Церква України високо цінує велику духовну і благодійну працю УПЦ США, особливо її підтримку жертв російської агресії, ветеранів, вимушених переселенців і біженців.

Від щирого серця бажаю 24-му Собору плідних роздумів і мудрих рішень, які сприятимуть збереженню та примноженню духовної і історичної спадщини Українського Православ’я на американській землі в умовах нових викликів нашого часу.»

Слова Блаженнішого стали нагадуванням про те, що єдність віри і покликання перевищує будь-які відстані, поєднуючи Церкву Матері-України та її дітей у діаспорі.

Своє звернення до Собору надіслав Президент України Володимир Зеленський, який із вдячністю відзначив жертовне служіння Церкви українському народові:

«Проведення цього Собору - це визначна подія церковного календаря і особливий момент для зустрічей, діалогу та глибоких роздумів про віру, служіння громаді та майбутнє.

Ми щиро вдячні Церкві за допомогу, яку вона надає Україні - за молитви, що зігрівають серця людей, і за непохитну любов до Батьківщини.
Ваша Церква є невід’ємною частиною тисячолітньої традиції української культури та історичної пам’яті в Північній Америці.»

Ці слова, наповнені вдячністю, викликали теплі емоції серед делегатів, які з вдячністю усвідомили свою участь у спільній місії - духовній і гуманітарній підтримці України.

Від імені громад штату Нью-Джерзі привітання передав Губернатор Філіп Мерфі, підкресливши важливу роль Української Православної Церкви США у житті штату та всієї країни:

«Упродовж понад століття Українська Православна Церква США забезпечує духовне лідерство, зберігає віру і прищеплює цінності, що роблять наш світ кращим.

Церква не лише допомагає українцям у Нью-Джерзі, але й подає руку допомоги Україні - через гуманітарну, медичну та духовну підтримку під час цієї спустошливої війни.

Я висловлюю щиру вдячність за вашу невтомну працю та вияв віри, які сягають далеко за межі нашого штату.»

Собор також був отримав вітальне слооа Преосвященного Єпископа Михаїла, екзарха Вселенського Патріарха в Україні. У своєму зверненні він наголосив на апостольському значенні соборності в житті Церкви:

«Соборна форма обговорення церковного життя, вирішення труднощів і пошук відповідей на виклики є фундаментальним способом буття Церкви у світі. За прикладом святих апостолів, повнота Тіла Христового визначає шлях до спасіння і Царства Божого.

УПЦ США протягом багатьох років вірно виконує свою місію - проповідує Євангеліє Христове, служить людям і підтримує благодійні та пастирські ініціативи Вселенського Патріархату.»

Єпископ Михаїл також подякував за переклад богослужбових текстів із грецької на українську, який став благословенням для православних вірних у всьому світі.

Відеопривітання надійшли також від Високопреосвященнішого Митрополита Сергія з Донецька, який подякував за духовну і матеріальну допомогу УПЦ США, та прот. Костянтина Кузнецова, декана благочиння ПЦУ Донбасу, який передав щирі слова вдячності від українських біженців і переселенців.

Собор Єпископів УПЦ США, Рада Митрополії, Консисторія та всі делегати Собору висловили глибоку вдячність усім, хто надіслав вітання, благословення і слова підтримки.

«Ми глибоко вдячні, - зазначили архієреї, - за кожне послання любові і молитви, отримане від наших братів і сестер у Христі - від церковних і державних лідерів, від представників громадських установ. Їхні слова зміцнюють нашу рішучість служити Господу з радістю, зберігаючи вірність нашому покликанню.»

Окрему подяку було висловлено спонсорам і благодійникам 24-го Собору, чия щедрість і жертовність зробили можливим проведення цього історичного зібрання. Їхня підтримка є свідченням живої віри і любові до Церкви Христової.

«Нехай благословення Господнє перебуває на всіх, хто долучився до цієї священної події - тих, хто вітав, підтримував і молився, щоб разом ми могли служити Господу з радістю та утверджувати Його Святу Церкву в єдності і любові.»
